If you’re looking for some great outdoor spaces to spend your time while you’re in Vaughan, or even if you live here and are looking to explore your own neighbourhood a little more here’s the best parks you need in Vaughan.
Mackenzie Glen District Park
This beautiful outdoor space is located at 220 Cranston Park Avenue in Vaughan. This space has so much to offer, and it’s completely family friendly. You can walk your dog, bring your children to play on the playground or even visit the splash pad during the warmer weather. The well kept trails make a great path for those who want to go for a run but also for those who just want to casually stroll around on a Saturday afternoon. It’s located in a quiet area, and has lots of parking spaces so you don’t have to worry about not getting a spot. If you decide to spend a lot of time here, there’s even picnic tables so you can truly enjoy your day at the park.
Tudor District Park
You can find this outdoor green space at 300 Jacob Keffer Parkway. If you are a big baseball fan then this is definitely the place for you to visit in the summer. Here you’ll find three baseball diamonds and they are always busy in the summer. From competitive teams to house leagues, there’s all kinds of baseball here so it’ll never disappoint. Grab your friends, your kids, your family – whoever – and take in one of the great baseball games found at this park.
Langstaff Park
There’s a really beautiful river that flows through this outdoor space for your to enjoy. Found right on Langstaff Road, there’s many trails for you and your family to enjoy during the warm weather. While this is one of the smaller parks in the area you can still get out and enjoy the green space here.
Bartley Smith Greenway
This is a trail system that’s just over 15KM long that follows along the West Don River. There is a north and south trail segment so you don’t have to go the whole path if you don’t want to. The southern portion starts on Steeles Ave, just east of Dufferin Street, and is about 11KMs long. The northern section, which is 4KMs long, starts just north of McNaughton Rd and ends at Teston Rd. Along these trails you’ll find beautiful trees, and a variety of wildlife to take in. During the fall, when the trees are turning colours, spending an afternoon walking these trails will be an experience unlike anything else; you might even forget you’re in the city. There are numerous exits along the trails – both north and south – so if you don’t want to walk the whole trail then you don’t have to.
Humber Trail (William Granger Greenway)
This trail is 5.7 KMs long and connects you to various destinations around Vaughan, beginning at Rutherford Rd. This area has trails meant for biking, hiking, strolling and even running. These trails are open year round so you can experience nature in the city during any season you want, and you’ll be able to enjoy the outdoors no matter the weather. You can access this trail from multiple locations, but the main entrance (including parking) can be found at Rutherford Road or the Al Palladini Community Centre.
